Salah satu hal yang menarik dari Canon 1300D ini dibandingkan pendahulunya adalah sudah dilengkapi dengan beberapa fitur tambahan yang mana semua itu digunakan untuk mempermudah penguna dalam melakukan pengoperasian kamera dan mendapatkan hasil yang bagus. Jika melihat masalah desain, Kamera canon EOS 1300D ini masih tetap sama dengan desain yang digunakan oleh pendahulunya yakni Canon EOS 1200D. Kamera canon 1300D ini memiliki dimensi bodi kamera yang tidak terlalu besar, bahkan bobotnya saat terpasang lensa kit 18-55mm juga masih tergolong ringan dan ideal saat digunakan bepergian. Sehingga, secara keseluruhan, bodinya terasa cukup kokoh dan nyaman saat digenggam.
Pada bagian belakang ada layar LCD 3 inchi dengan tampilan yang cukup tajam. Secara resolusi layarnya lebih baik dibandingkan Canon EOS 1200D karena resolusi layarnya lebih tinggi dengan jumlah piksel mencapai 920 ribu titik.
